California set aside $400 million New Jobs Credit for businesses that employed a total of 20 or fewer employees at the end of the preceding taxable year. Taxpayers who had net increase of qualified employees will get a credit of $3,000 per person or a prorated amount for the partial year hires. The credit earned could be carryover to the future years if not used up.
